Up-cycle a used book to scrapbook or genealogy book

I just love this idea of recycling an old book

and make it into a scrapbook like this

I have been scanning old pictures with my FlipPal scanner of family members and I think what I am going to do next is make it into a genealogy scrapbook. I have all sorts of ideas running through my head right now.  Can you imagine all those great black and white photos!!

Go visit JANET HOPKINS blog to see the instructions on how to "up-cycle" an old book to a scrapbook.

Cool Flip-Pal mobile scanner

Oh, I am so excited!!!!

If you are a scrapbooker, quilter, or doing Genealogy you are going to love this!!

I GOT MY FLIP-PAL SCANNER!!!

People, I have been looking for something like this for a while now.

My mom passed away last year, my husbands aunt the year before and we have inherited a lot of old pictures and albums. Now, I can have all of this on the computer.

Now, here is what really sold me on it.....there is NO software to install....and it has 600 and 300 dpi resolution setting.

One of the best things about Flip-Pal is that you can scan photos while they are still in the album. And was it easy to use!! I was so excited I read the directions for a few seconds and I had it working.

For albums you pop off the lid, place the scanner face-down and press the big green button. Done! You have your first scan and it shows up in the little display and now your ready for the next picture. If you are scanning single pictures, you place the lid back on, lift the lid and place your picture in the scanner push the green button and your ready for your next picture.

I usually scan while I am watching TV.  (My first night I scanned around 300 photos.)

Yes, it is that easy!

Once your done scanning you put the memory card into this USB stick, put the USB stick into your computer.  Then you can either open it up like a regular USB drive and look at the files, move them into Photoshop, or you can open them up into I-Photo if you have a Mac.

Simple...Simple....Simple!!!   I LOVE MY FLIP-PAL SCANNER!!
